About the Program

What Is Community Housing?

Community Housing supports adults with developmental disabilities in residential homes located throughout the Vernon community. Residents receive assistance based on their individual needs, preferences, goals and routines.

Each home offers a safe and inclusive environment where residents can develop daily living skills, participate in community life and enjoy meaningful relationships.

Support is based on each resident’s goals, abilities, choices and preferred routines.

Community Participation

Residents are encouraged to build relationships and participate in activities throughout the community.

Registered nurses and trained staff support residents and employees. Staff may receive training in personal care, First Aid, CPR, food safety and other areas appropriate to their roles.
